We are looking to recruit a number of qualified Solicitors or Barristers to join the Legal Services Unit. Ours is a progressive and rapidly changing environment with the Council having moved to Unitary status in April 2009.

£36,313 - £38,961 p.a. plus 15% market plussage

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to play a key role in the Property Team of the Legal Unit.

You will report to the Principal Solicitor, Property and will supervise designated staff within that team ensuring an excellent service for the Unitary Authority.

You will have at least 5 years post qualification experience as a qualified Solicitor or Barrister, of which 3 will be in the field of property law in local government. You will be expected to make a signficant contribution to the operational and strategic management of the Legal Unit, giving high quality, specialist legal advice across a wide range of property work.

Furthermore you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build good relationships with Members, officers and external agencies. Ref: RES10/13
